CUSTOMIZED GLADIATOR CARBINE REVIEW

I recently had the opportunity to pick up a custom Gladiator Carbine from Iron Pig Armament. Admittedly I was skeptical at first. After all, Iron Pig is a new company without much name recognition in the industry. But being new to the industry doesn't equate to a poor- quality product—quite the contrary. From the moment I opened the box at the FFL, I knew this was a well-made rifle. As a matter of fact, even the owner of the shop was impressed by the quality of the Gladiator. 

What I Got 

When you order a custom carbine from Iron Pig, you get a variety of options to choose from. So how did I set up my custom Gladiator? 

This is what I got: For the finish, I opted for the "Tiger's Wood" camo pattern. They offer seven different finishes, three of which are unique camo patterns. The Cerakote on both the upper and lower receivers is superbly done, and I expect it to wear very well over the years. 

For the muzzle device, I opted for the standard MilSpec flash hider, although they do have a custom muzzle break they call the "angry piglet." 

Although they have other great options, I went with the Magpul MOE grip and stock in OD Green, as they match the camo receivers very well. 

Finally, the trigger. I went with the Geissele Super Dynamic-Combat (SD-C) Trigger, and I can honestly say that this is one of the best triggers I've had the pleasure of squeezing. 

First Impressions 

You can feel the quality of the rifle as soon as you pick it up. It's lightweight and comfortable, with a full rail and plenty of M-lock. Right out of the box, it was well-oiled and ready to use. I have had no malfunctions whatsoever, having shot the first 300 rounds through it. The gas system is perfectly tuned, ejecting brass at three to four o'clock. I was only able to shoot it out to 100 yards, but at that distance, it was highly accurate. 

Final Thoughts 

I am absolutely thrilled with my Custom Gladiator Carbine. The fit and finish is impeccable. It's lightweight, comfortable, accurate, and reliable. This high-quality offering from Iron Pig Armament is well worth the price, and I'm excited to kit this beast out and send some more lead down range.
